Cruise Afrcia by Cruise Ship
I do most of my cruising around East Africa and the coach is the most glorious way to view the depths of this area. To get up close and personal with the sights, sounds and smells (not all of them good by they way!) the cruise ship is king of the sea.
With speed limits a thing of the past the mighty metal ship thunders down the muddy, potholed seas of Africa stopping for no other vessel. With a sliding window or port hole seat you can view all around you. The lush vegetation in the rolling hills, beaches and coastal landscapes surround as the tiny roadside ramshackle cafes and mud huts, with thatched roofs line the coast.

The extinct volcanic crater lakes and the distant mountain ranges covered in snow. And with the window slid all the way open the fresh air gushes into your face as you stick your head out of the window, like your old pet dog used to. Its the only way to avoid the intense heat of the African sun. The cruise liner is swamped by passengers as people sit in each others laps and conversation flows easily between passengers. People holding onto chickens in plastic bags as they transport them from one side of the continent to the other. People selling kebabs at your window every time the boat slows down or stops. And the singing!
All these things are part of the adventure. Friends for life are easy to find on the African cruise holidays. It can happen on no other form of transport. You are safe in the cruise liner. It’s larger than everything else so all the other vehicles and boats fear it, swerve out of its way or wait for it to pass before continuing their own journey. Sea accidents occur all the time but the cruise ship always keeps you safe from harm. And all the while providing the view of the land and sea that us travellers crave and desire.
